PSYCHOLOGICAL STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR 2006

Psychological Strategic Planning is a key essential to a quality of life. My favorite saying is the PSP (psychological strategic planning) is better than ESP (extra-sensory perception)! What is so special about PSP?

Psychological Strategic Planning allows you to:

  • Identify and modify your goals,

  • Develop a plan to reach your goals,

  • Identify and remove any barriers to your goals,

  • Assess the balance in your life,

  • Learn new strategies to enhance your life, and

  • Engage in “healthy selfish” behaviors.

How unrealistic individuals are to expect to have a quality of life with no time set aside for adequate planning! On a daily basis, life tasks eat up our time and leave individuals tired and often frustrated. A quality of life requires the self-discipline to carve out the time to assess and plan your life.

Healthy Selfish behaviors are self-care behaviors. If you allow yourself to be depleted, you have less to offer everyone. Once you obtain and maintain clarity of direction with specific goals and a strategy to reach those goals, you are increasing the quality of your life.

Time is a precious commodity. A commodity that an individual cannot purchase at any price! The well-planned life is the well-lived life. Often, patients will verbalize that the “don’t know what happened with the time” and regret missed opportunities.

The therapists at COPE welcome you to contact us for your life assessment to begin the steps of Psychological Strategic Planning. PSP is similar to physical wellness check-up, an essential part of your health plan and covered by insurance plans. Remember PSP is better than ESP!
