Relationships: The Key to Joy
As this New Year begins, we will experience many work, economic and political changes. Each year, life becomes more complicated and stressful. So how can we build joyous moments into our lives?
Joy does not come from money or material possessions. Joy is not an aroma that we can sniff in the air. Joy is not something we can find in a store or on the internet. Joy is a special connection with another person. Therefore, relationships are a key to having joy in our lives.
The relationships that we cherish in our lives have the following ingredients:
• Having trust in each other,
• Being able to talk freely with one another,
• Enjoying good times together,
• Providing each other with support and encouragement,
• Giving space to each other, and
• Nurturing each other.
The most consistent provider of joyous moments is our relationships with supportive and caring people. My New Years wish for you is to remember to place priority on your relationships. Please make time for the people that add joy to your life! Also, we thank each of you for giving us the joy of having a therapeutic relationship with you or someone you referred.
